H2Marine is a purpose-built facility capable of constructing or converting hydrogen fuel-cell powered vessels in our region. The facilities;

  • are sufficient in size to allow construction and conversion of several hydrogen fuel-cell powered vessels at one time,
  • have the infrastructure within the construction hall to allow multi-faceted outcomes including vessel construction, painting, complete vessel fit out including the assembly, installation and service of hydrogen fuel-cell technology and host a hydrogen fuel-cell training facility and
  • provide much needed accommodation on site for up to 6 employees, trainees and contractors essential for the successful operation for this facility.
  • located adjacent to the run way of Shute Harbour Airport for quick access to freight and transport and only 3 kilometres from Shute Harbour Marina.

H2Marine is a 30 x 40-metre purpose built facility capable of constructing and refitting vessels of up to 30 metres in length. This facility integrates the latest technology, allowing flexibility to scale-up and diversify the manufacturing operation.

Employment

Employment Opportunities at H2Marine include;

  • The provision of both short- and long-term employment in the construction of the facility and ongoing operation of H2 Marine Whitsunday
  • The immediate employment of up to 38 local and regional contractors to build and fit out the construction hall, training facility and accommodation block
  • The creation of 12 new full-time jobs employed directly by H2 Marine Pty Ltd to manufacture and fit out new commercial boats
  • Create the first Hydrogen Fuel Cell training facility employing specialised professionals in the training of Safety Management procedures and operation and use of hydrogen as a fuel for the transport industry
  • The engagement of 47 contractors during the 22-month construction of H2Rendezvous project.
